FAQ for Bonus & Ang Pow
Yes, bonus is subject to EPF contribution of both employers and employees.
Annual bonus needs to be divided into 12 months during calculation：
Let’s say the bonus is RM12,000, monthly salary RM6,000:
a) (Bonus / 12) + monthly salary
(RM12,000 / 12 months) + RM6,000 = RM7,000 / months
b) Check with MTD listing to get MTD amount
(RM7000 for single = MTD RM470.85)
c) [(New MTD amount) – (Original MTD amount)] *12months
[(RM470.85 – RM301.65) * 12 months = RM 2030.40]
